This video shows how a community approach helps reduce pollution in Ythan estuary in Scotland. The approach includes: use of a farm demonstration site to disseminate best practice, working with local farmers to increase applications to agri-environment schemes for nutrient budgeting, and the production of water management plans and to encourage the use of buffer strips. Finally, the project brought anglers, walkers, local residents and national agencies together, to select and manage restoration work on sections of the river to create areas of semi-natural habitats.
