The video shows some of the good practices Hadramout’s farmers use to manage the water resources there where palm trees are planted in spacious areas. The innovative water channels
implemented in many farms helped in preventing evaporation of water running from the far wells to water the farms.
Farms have also been introduced to modern irrigation methods such as drip irrigation to reduce the amount of water consumption.
Water management by the local community and the government is also discussed, including how farmers adapted palm trees –in their early first years –to the modern irrigation techniques. This video was supported by NWO-CoCooN
